Privacy Policy — QuickMails Extension

Last updated: 2026-07-30

The QuickMails browser extension lets you generate disposable (temporary) email addresses and read the messages they receive, right from your browser toolbar. This policy explains what data the extension uses.

Data we use

  • Your API key and Site URL — you enter these in the extension settings and they are stored only locally in your browser (via chrome.storage). They are never sent to us or anyone else.
  • The temporary addresses you generate and the messages they receive — fetched from the QuickMails site you configured, solely to display them in the extension.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not track your browsing or read the content of other websites.
  • We do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties.
  • We do not collect analytics through the extension.

Permissions and why they are needed

  • storage — to save your settings (API key and Site URL) locally.
  • Site access — the extension only communicates with the QuickMails site you configure, to create addresses and read messages. For a self-hosted site, this permission is explicitly requested when you save.

Data retention

Temporary addresses and messages are hosted on the configured QuickMails site and expire automatically per that site's policy. The extension's local settings remain until you clear them or uninstall the extension.
